A couple of times, my dishwater has leaked because there was a very small piece of food/dirt stuck on seals. No leaks after I wiped down the seals.

I bet it's the dishwasher leaking underneath.

Call a plumber.

Call a plumber, yes. You have no idea how much damage was caused and should check it out.

We're not sure if it's the dishwasher, a pipe, or if it was a one time thing (like we didn't close the dishwasher fully before it ran maybe?) but we all of the sudden have a HUGE yellow spot on the basement ceiling directly below it and some slight bowing. We don't know when it happened as we hadn't been in the basement in about a week and the kitchen floor was not wet. The ceiling is no longer wet, and through the unfinished portion of the basement, we can look into the ceiling and see that there's no standing water in the ceiling above the drywalled ceiling. We've run the dishwasher a few times since then to see if there's a leak and nothing has happened. We also checked after running the kitchen sink for a while and no change. Not sure what we should do -- wait it out and see if happens again? Call a plumber just in case? What would you do?
