That said, I can't find anything negative from a health perspective and am wondering if I ride out this fad, like I did with COD Xbox.

What for? That's a lot of expense for inhaling a nasty artificial strawberry flavor. And I can't imagine that even rich college kids are dumb enough to think that it's cool to spend a lot of money to inhale something with no mind-altering effect.

"But even an e-cigarette liquid having no nicotine disrupted the barrier function of lung cells, the team found. They don’t know why. But this is unexpected and disturbing, Petrache’s team says. The scientists suspect it may have to do with solvents and other potentially toxic materials. These chemicals are present in the flavored liquids that are inhaled through e-cigarettes."

It's going to take a lot more research to figure out what the effects really are. I clicked on that and saw Dr. Pepper vape now I want to try it. If I wasn't afraid of severe douchebagitis I probably would.

Can you cite some support for this?

Wrong .. Plenty of kids smoke hookah and never touch cigarettes

Though I'm not necessarily saying it is safe

Not getting the hookah reference. Plenty of nicotine there.

Anything that mimics cigarettes is bad for teens IMO.

I doubt someone who is used to vaping strawberry flavor is going to transition to smoke

There are non-nicotine flavors? I thought the whole point was to create an addiction. Those things are so poorly regulated, there may or may not be nicotine in there even if the label says it isn't.

DS came back from Georgetown w/ vaping kit-- e-cigarette like device and fruit flavored liquids. I have not learned any negative health effects but wonder what you may be able to share.
