A lot of kids with ADHD crave stimulation. Sometimes kids with anxiety do this to soothe themselves.
Get him something appropriate to suck on, e.g.,:

Subject: 8 yr old is sucking on everything!
I'm not sure what is going on. He is 8 and diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD. This is a new behavior, but he seems to want to suck on anything from a hard candy, to a toy, to his own arm. He seems to crave something at all times. Any thoughts on why this might be happening or how to stop it? Thanks!
