It is dated. It's not the most obnoxious pattern, but pictures tend to soften the look of wallpaper. It could be much more annoying irl. The foyer is an important first impact room in the home, so I wouldn't be happy about that at all. I tend to decorate my home with an eye toward resale, thus I avoid wallpaper. Buyers assume they will repaint. Having to deal with removing wallpaper ... shoot me.

I think it's the light floors and the gold paint in the other room. Lots of gold tones don't really go with that wall paper.

That is early 1980s wallpaper, circa John Hughes' heyday.
Teal and mauve were a very popular color combination then, as was that kind of flowered wallpaper.
I personally would take it down, even if it was in beautiful condition.
That is a lovely entry and stairway and the business of wallpaler distracts from the beautiful details of the stairs and woodwork.

I'd guess it was installed in the 70's. It's in impeccable shape. One of us thinks it's too dated, the other likes it. What do you think?
