Green fronts - yes it's a trip down to Farmville, VA - but well worth the trip. HUGE with all sorts of price points. Well organized that you can hit the area at your price points.
The store in Mansass isn't as good, but is worth a peak.

I will 5th or 6th Belfort. Some of the stores mentioned upthread are the same price but have furniture comprised primarily of mdf. Only my 30 y/o friends would buy furniture from Pottery Barn.

Absolutely not that much more expensive than West Elm, and I only think the real "design" pieces (saarinen table, etc.) are the ones priced more than C&B. We are pretty poor by DC standards, but find many things at R&B reasonably priced. I imagine high end stores to be Design Within Reach, Bo Concept, Jonathan Adler, etc.

I like Bassett Furniture and Belfort. Bassett has a smaller selection but I find their upholstered pieces last and are good quality without being outrageously priced (when purchased during one of their frequent sales, that is). Belfort has more affordable options (and higher end things too). Macy's has limited selection but I bought a nice bed and buffet there at a reasonable price (on sale).

I agree it's hard without you giving some specifics for anyone to know what is considered "moderate" given the crazy ass range in furniture pricing.

What do you mean by "Middle of the road"? I think most would consider Ikea to be the low end of the furniture. Do you want Ikea pricing without having to put it together?

If so, I think you should like it different stores for different types of furniture. I like Lazy Boy for Sofas. I have also had some good luck with bed room furniture at Costco. I have pretty bad dining set from Pier 1 imports. That being said, some of this stuff has held up better than far more expensive furniture I bought at Ethan Allan.

I don't want super low cost furniture but I am not looking for high end either. I do not want Ikea as I am not up for putting anything together. Any suggestions for the best middle of the road furniture store?
