I was 19 when I had my first. He's a young adult now and did fine with school. He was small too. He had great friends, played sports and got good grades.

I had so little life experience that it was always a struggle to feel confident with the other moms who seemed more composed and sure of how to raise their kids. I just really listened and learnt from other parents and co-workers.

Well I was 19 when I had my first kid. His now 19 . so you're not alone there lots of young mom around here

OP, I have a huge middle schooler. He's a nice guy. Your son will find his way, and it will be OK. Navigating the bumps is part of it.

I don't understand the concern about your age. What does that have to do with your DC going to middle school? Are you worried you will be too young to connect with the other moms? If so it seems like it shouldn't be that different than ES.

There are lots of threads about middle school--just curious: how does your age matter in that regard? I would imagine that a 31-YO and a 41-YO and a 51-YO wlil all have the same concerns about a child entering MS. (And it may surprise you that older people can in fact also remember those years.)
