Subject: Is it worth having laminate or hardwood throughout the house with kids
Carpet is nasty.
we have 20 year old hardwoods and they look great. They're oak and have held up well. Previous owners raised 3 boys in our house.

I agree with PP. Carpet is gross and kids destroy it. Laminate is a PAIN where water is concerned. One "issue" and its coming up. I love hardwoods.

Carpet is disgusting.
Do you *have* children? They spill stuff. A lot. And if they're young they have accidents. I'd much rather wipe stuff of wood or laminate than try to suck it out of carpet. Plus, dust settles in carpet. Gross.

or should we go carpet?
