My sister and brother in law have birthdays in the same month, and I've struggled with trying to decide how "equal" their presents need to be.
They live far away, so I see them a few times a year. When I'm shopping for gifts, I of course look for things they'll enjoy , but sometimes what I'd like to get for my sister is a bit more pricey than his gift. It might even be twice as much (not huge amounts here, probably still under $100).
Does it matter? Is it natural that her gift might be a little more expensive or extravagant? FWIW, I'm not making a ton of money, but am comfortable. Sometimes I feel like I should "make up" for his and get an extra gift card... But I'd never get my sister a gift card!
What do others do in similar situations? TIA for any input.
