I like movie mom for this stuff (her column is hosted now by "belief net"-- I have no idea what that site is but movie mom is not at all religious NTTAWWT).

FWIW, she rates it as appropriate for adults

Thank you for this link- it's really helpful and I was unaware of this parental guide. I explained to DD that the movie has many sex scenes and I'd rather she didn't go. She gets it, so we are going to see Pitch Perfect 2. Interesting that there are so many different thoughts on this. I still want to see the movie, but will do so without DD.

I'd let a 15 yr old see it.

I say go for it. I guarantee it is not anything she hasn't seen or jeard before, and it is a pretty good movie as far as romcoms go.

I don't censor legal media, and I certainly wouldn't object to my kids asking to watch something with me... that gives us the perfect opportunity to talk about anything if necessary.

I have a fifteen year old boy and I hardly censor anymore. Better he should feel comfortable talking about what he sees.

In fact, I wish he'd see something like that with us instead of pushing for science fiction and action,

DH and I saw it without the kids (really liked it). It's a close call for a 15 year old and really depends on your attitude about your kid and sex. It is pretty explicit in showing sex acts and as PP noted has significant male nudity. Around 15-16 my attitude is that they know what sex is and that people have it, so I don't have much problem with them seeing an R rated depiction of those facts in the context of a movie that they want to see. I can understnad those who would hold off for another year or two as we are among the most permissive of our friends on this front.

God. I saw a Fish Called Wanda with my parents at around that age. I wanted to die not because it wasn't anything I hadn't heard before, but because I was sitting next to my father. Particularly at the point where Jamie Lee Curtis is wrapping her legs around the rope in her underwear while Kevin Cline recites Italian foods.

If you would be ok with DD watching Amy Schumer's raunchier stand up routines with some frank sex scenes sprinkled in, and would be comfortable sitting next to her while she watches it, then go for it.

Not sure what her maturity level is. The movie does show full frontal nudity of a man with only a washcloth draped over his nether region. There are several other sex scenes - nothing shown but explicit in detail. Language is mature. It's an awesome, funny, touching, romantic comedy - but it deserves it's R rating fair and square.

Better that she see it with you than without you. Though maybe not better that you see it with her than without her!

with me. Has anyone seen it? Is it totally inappropriate? I'd love to see it, but not sure about DD seeing it.
