read the bolded on my post. I said "what he is doing". I place the blame on him. The reason I said to talk to her is because she probably "loves" him and doesn't want to see him get into trouble, so maybe she'd stop seeing him. This was a way to not break her trust by telling the mom and at the same time, get her to stop seeing the guy.

Yes. A friend in h.s. started "dating" her 24 year neighbor when she was about this age. She was pregnant by graduation and he dumped her well b/f the baby was born.

A huge number of single teenage mothers are knocked up by guys over 22. The guy is a predator. He's a loser for dating an underage girl. It's sex abuse. Many of these relationships end up violent.

You have to tell her mother. If the mother doesn't do anything, you need to call the cops. They may or may not do anything, but you have to do your part. Respecting her wishes went right out the window when she revealed that she was involved with a guy old enough to be a college graduate.

Once upon a time, I failed to report something like this. The girl was 17. Her boyfriend put her in the hospital when she tried to break up with him. Guys who are more than 5 years older than their underage girlfriend have something seriously wrong with them. They are dating kids because they can control and abuse kids. I will never fail to throw a fit if I see something like it again.

Yes, OP, I would tell my friend but I would tell the daughter first. And I would find out why she is so adamant about her mother not finding out.

If the guy is a college student and a good kid and the girl is 17, then no. If she's younger than that or if the guy sounds like a loser, then yes.
