I saw the candy corn sitting out at our Giant two weeks ago, and I clucked my tongue in disapproval like a little old lady. Looked around and didn't see any obvious signs of fall and Halloween, so I guess these bastards are just trying to ease it in slowly.

Target also gets rid of stuff so quickly, so I can't even catch it on sale after the big holiday. Where does it all go? Fortunately I got some deals on summer stuff before back to school merch rolled in.

It's all over the place. Disgusting. Who can get excited about Halloween in August? And candy corn - repulsive on so many levels.

It's because our society is in such a big hurry all the time. It used to be that no one put up Halloween decorations till the second week of October. Now, people are sick of Halloween by then, because they've been seeing decorations since September!

Op here - but why are stores rushing? This id DC - it's going to be warm through October... I'd be fine with a back to school section, I'd be more than fine with "one last BBQ" type advertising, but why waste space on stuff for late fall?

I was shopping at Giant with my 8-year-old and he was so confused by the Halloween candy. I made some joke about Halloween in July and the lady stocking the shelves cracked up.

A few years ago, I saw candy corn in Giant over Fourth of July weekend!

Soon the pumpkin spice Starbucks freaks will show up too.

And Williams Sonoma sent me their "pumpkin edition" email with all things Halloween and Tgiving.

Seriously? It's August 2nd.
