A few suggestions:

sports where short girls can compensate for their height disadvantage with speed and agility: tennis, soccer (think Megan Klingenerg), basketball (point guard)

sports where short girls have an advantage: gymnastics, diving, cross-country

sports where you have to be short: crew -- coxswain!!

+1. I am 5 feet flat and played varsity basketball in high school and was an all-state hurdler- both sports not meant for short girls. Don't worry about finding the right sport for her stature- figure out a sport she loves for the sake of it.

My DD is short and plays whatever sport she's into. This past year she did track and volleyball.

Any sport! Some of the best athletes on my kids teams are the tiniest...they are super fast and agile.

Lacrosse comes to mind immediately.

Why not soccer? Other than goalie.

Unless you want DD to be a college athlete, she can probably play any sport.

If you want her to be a college athlete, gymnastics and diving are good choices, dance and cheerleading, too. Dependent on her build/speed/agility, she could be good at field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball.

I can help with this! I was always small/short/under percentile until I hit 15. I'm now 5'6 btw.

Anyhoo growing up I was in dance from 3 to 20 - ballet, jazz, modern. I was in cheer from 7-22. I took martial arts from 9-15. I played softball from 6 to 18 (I was my towns star player too).

I'm looking for something for DD who's rather short, 25 percentile.
