Some guys can pull off the bald look and some can't. Just like some women can pull off certain haircuts that would look terrible on other women.
I'm thinning on top but would look horrible bald, so for now I just keep it very short all over. I dread what the coming years will bring.

If you're not comfortable going completely bald, you could buzz it really short. My husband's lost just about everything on top, buzzes just short of completely bald, and looks hot. That said, I think you need to be in reasonably good shape to pull off the bald/nearly bald look without looking schlubby. Not necessarily super muscular or anything, but not overweight.

OP my DH has a receding hairline and a bald spot and I find him just as *rawr* sexy as I ever did. I'd rather he be bald and sexually fulfilled than not.
