We are veggie too - taco bell, subway, roy rogers (they have mac and cheese), and a few others are fine. My kid if desperate will get a cheese sandwich.

This would be how I would handle it. Its a party to show appreciation to your friend, if its at McDs or a park with paper plates you go and teach your children to be gracious.

I was at McDonalds the other Saturday and there was a birthday party going on. It was crazy chaotic with all the other diners and their kids playing in the play area which didn't look that clean. Probably similar at other establishments. Wouldn't recommend it.

I think it's hilarious that a chic-fil-a ad is on my screen right now! Anyway, I agree with PP.

I haven't seen one in about 30 years. Do they still offer them? To be honest, I'm not sure what would be fun about it... I think indoor play areas and fast food were huge novelties in the 70s, but are so common now that most kids don't find McD or Chick fil A that interesting.

My brother had a McDonald's bday party, but that was his first bday party in the USA. We thought it was a big deal. Yes, we were so FOB. Anyway, I'd let my kid go-- why not?

But to your question OP - if my child was invited to a party at one of these places, we'd go, and we don't eat much fast food (it's a party!).

We would only go if the child was good friends. I don't like the play areas as they rarely get cleaned and are small. Depending on where, my child would not eat the food. Noodles and Co and a few others would be great, but he does not like McDonalds, Chick Fil A, etc. as he does not eat meat and very particular about his fries.

I never think about it.

Honestly? I would think it's a little low-rent but my kid would probably love it.
