I agree with Jeff - it just encourages people to get all crazy, and then half the thread becomes people talking about whether it'll become a best of thread, blah blah blah. It's less authentic.
There was someone a while ago (I don't know if the link is it) who did hilarious abstracts of some of the classics. That person was talented (others who tried to contribute couldn't hit the right slightly distant note of an abstract) - if /he came back I think it would make a great sticky.

Its a little Brechtian to have a "best of" like a dog chasing its own tail.

Rather than a forum, why not just collect you favorite threads and add it to this thread:
If you want, you can periodically bump the thead to bring it back to the top, but if you add a new thread to this one, then it will automatically bump to the top.

I'm with Jeff on this one.
I agree with this and really hate the idea of a "best of DCUM" forum.

Variations of this idea are suggested periodically and I'm just not a fan of the idea. In particular, I wouldn't want an entire forum dedicated to it.

I have seen many posts that ask for people to name candidates for the Best Of DCUM. I propose for Jeff to make a separate forum dedicated to this. I suggest going about this by locking the thread after x amount of time off inactivity, and pouring it in the Best Of forum. Just my 2 cents. What do you think, Jeff?
