For general well-woman paps and check ups, any of the three are fine. If you run into an issue that needs a specialist, they can refer you to a gyno.

No, I've never seen a gyno. Always had my primary care doctor and then after birth my midwife practice do it.

I see a midwife for my yearly check up.

No--a midwife is fine for routine care

I use a midwife even though I'm done having kids. They are associated with a OBGYN practice if additional care is needed.

For a simple pap, i think all three options are equally fine. I would go to your obgyn if the pap turns up something.

I just realized that I'm due for a pap smear as I haven't had one since giving birth three years ago. My primary care doc is able to do paps in her office, and the midwives where I gave birth can also do a well woman exam. Are there good reasons to have a separate gyn or are all three options equally good?
