OP, I would check google maps to get the actual distance from your house to LT, as I have heard unconfirmed rumors that that measurement is what DCPS is using. I would then call myschooldc to see what they say.
LT is .3 from my house using google maps or the myschooldc site. Watkins is 1.2 with google maps and 1 with the myschooldc site.

I chose first grade? Peabody is pk3-k.
I know all about Peabody -- 2 DCs attended. I just thought that your distance from Watkins doesn't matter because you are IB closer to Peabody. The people who live IB near Watkins are also a mile from Peabody. That's why they have the bus.
But it's all about how far it is to walk to your elementary school. Does the bus negate the regulation?
Does anyone have a link to the regs?
The general proximity preference is described this way on myschooldc -
Proximity preference
Students who live greater than a half mile walking distance from their zoned DCPS elementary school will receive a proximity preference in the out-of-boundary lottery to a DCPS zoned elementary school that is a half mile or less walking distance from their home.
Is there something special for these Hill schools in addition to that?
