Wherever you stay, make sure to take a walk to Eduardo's beach shack. They have fresh fruit bowls and smoothies. I got introduced to Pitaya bowls while I was there, delicious!
LOVE Eduardo's! Those acai bowls are amazing. We stayed at the Radisson and really liked it. It just got purchased by Hilton. The property has a tropical feel and tons of parrots/live birds in cages throughout that they let out once a day for guests to take photos with/feed. My 2 year old loved it and still talks about it a year later.

It's a timeshare - part of Marriott Vacation Club - but you can pay cash through Marriott.com or rent a week through redweek.com. You can get a 2 bedroom unit which includes a full kitchen plus a washer and dryer in unit. I didn't travel with kids but I think this setup would be ideal. The resort also has many pools, a lazy river, I think a playground, and many scheduled activities for kids!
