With all three of my kids I noted the foot stink at ages 2 and 3 and then after that it fell dramatically. They seem to have REALLY REALLY sweaty feet at that age.

I know. What people don't realize is that the right shoes are really important for foot development, and also foot maintenance as you age. My kids and I have a much smaller wardrobe than our friends, but I spend a bit more on good quality shoes.

This is such bullshit. No your TODDLER does not need $80 sandals to ensure proper foot development.

Actually your TODDLER need good quality shoes more than you do. Ask your pediatrician!

Actually, your toddler needs to minimize shoe use as much as possible for proper foot development (that will ensure proper foot health later in life) There is little difference in toddler sandals that is going to make any huge impact as long as there is proper fit (not too small/tight)- podiatrist.

I bought some leather Stride Rite sandals for typical Stride Rite prices. They are very cute. Not washable, though. But I don't know if they'd make your child's feet stink because Keens don't make my boy's stink. I do rotate shoes and we wear socks and sneakers to day care because they don't wear shoes when inside. Also, I'm finding the bigger Keens sizes to be nearly impossible to get on quickly, and he can put his sneakers on mostly unassisted (almost 3 YO, wearing size 8's). I'd second the Seacamps over the Newports, though. The Seacamps are much lighterweight and more flexible than the Newports, which are clunkier and heavier and tripped up my normally sure-footed DS. They were fine in the baby sizes, though.

My kid has stinky feet no matter what. He is barefoot whenever possible. The bottoms of his feet feel like leather.

You can kill the stink on the keens by pouring boiling water on them. That's what we've always done with our adult ones.

All-leather shoes do not make feet stink. I recommend Naturino.

Keens are notorious for creating stink - they're all artificial. Pedipeds are probably the same thing.

We've tried PediPeds and Keens.... and end up with sweaty, stinky feet. Have you found some that don't make the feet reek??!
