I agree! The kindergarten packet is almost all count outs and find the numbers. Waste of paper and time.

I read it same as OP... the problem reads "how many different ways" which sounds like any combination of box quantities.

OP here. The way I read it, you can make any combo of boxes. So, you could do:

Within the one store:
4 popsicles per box @ 50 boxes = 200 popsicles
3 popsicles per box @ 50 boxes = 150
2 popsicles per box @ 5 boxes = 10

total of 360 popsicles. If you go with this logic, there are thousands of combinations.

The problem wants you to see a pattern. Here is the pattern ( axb = bxa)

180 of 2 popsicles per box
2 of 120 popsicles per box

120 of 3 popsicles per box
3 of 120 popsicles per box

90 of 4 popsicles per box
4 of 90 popsicles per box

My daughter used to go to RP and the other moms and I would joke at all the typos on math and ironically, spelling. Just email the teacher.

My DS is doing this packet that was downloaded from RP website. Has anyone's kid done it yet?

The first problem is about buying 360 popsicles. I think there is a typo on the problem, but not sure. I think the # of popsicles per box in the Target column is missing zeros. Instead of 2 popsicles per box, I'm thinking it should be 20 per box.

If it is 2 popsicles per box, 3 per box, and 4 per box (as the problem shows), then the answer to the question "How many different ways can you buy 360 popsicles?" would be huge. There would be hundreds of permutations possible. If it was 20, 30, and 40 per box, it would a lot easier.

My DS did all the other problems on the packet with no problem, but this first one seems pretty difficult for a 4/5 compacted math problem. I'm just wondering if there is a typo here, or if we're just making the problem more complicated than it is.

Anyone tried this problem yet?
