+1 staring at it now. Did you get a sample and try it first? If you're just looking at a paint chip, be sure to tape it to the wall. The colors are drastically different in your hand vs on the wall.

Yes, I purchased a sample. DH is the one that thinks it's too light, I had planned revere pewter for the living room and edgecomb gray for the stairs at first. B

Thanks for the suggestions everyone and sorry for the typos. I posted the question using my phone while we were looking at colors.

We used first star by sherwin williams.
Very light pale gray. It can look a little blue depending on lighting, but is a beautiful gray in our foyer

Try Light Pewter or Lacey Pearl.

I've used Lacey Pearl with Edgecomb Gray. Lacey Pearl is an extremely light gray. In hindsight, I would have gone with something with more presence. Or a bright white.

Try gray owl or cut edgecomb gray to 75%

Pale oak is lighter. We though edgecomb was too dark as well. I really love pale oak in our house with north facing windows.

Neither is edgecomb. I used it last year and was surprised how light it was once it got on the walls.

No, but I can see if it's for a stairway/hallway where OP might want to go lighter.

What about Stonington Gray or Coventry Gray. They are often matched up with RP and Edgecomb. Blue entry's (foyers) are in right now.

You could also add white to Revere Pewter so it is less dark.

We are painting or living room edgecomb gray and revere pewter at first seemed like a good idea for the staircase and 2nd floor hallway. But not looking at the samples it seems too dark. What colors would be good for the staircase and hallway in a smallish townhouse??? Thanks in advance
