I'm looking for tips and advice from those who have BTDT as far as not being irritated by having him around for so long. It's not the first long visit by any stretch, but it's the first long visit that is THIS long. We're only at the halfway point and I just feel like crying from irritation. I try to be compassionate, I try to have empathy, and I try to imagine being in his shoes. Those things help, but I still long for privacy, solitude, and just our nuclear family. Four months is a long time. Any advice?
Honey, my senile FIL has been living in our house for over 2 years. Other than moderate mental impairment and beginnings of incontinence, he is in great physical shape, so will be with us for a good long time yet.
Feel better?
