Concrete can look great. Avoid the fake marble looks though. Polish, or stain with clear so you can see the original textures.
Polishing is the most expensive option ( I think, but maybe depends on your existing conditions), but call a concrete company to explore their options and products. Some good pics in the link below:

Get a drain cover with a leaf guard, e.g.
If the floor is essentially level, I'd consider carpet squares, so you can get rid of anything that gets wet in the advent of any flooding.

It will get wet again. Find a concrete company specialist contractor to sand the floor and stain it. Maybe it will cost you 5K.
God awful. I would fix the drain and get tile or carpet

Please do not carpet again. Stain the concrete and it will last 5 times carpet. Get a couple of nice rugs and your done.

Contact JD Martinez Construction. He is reasonably priced and will give you the best option for your space and your taste. He put a really nice tile at my parents house and carpet in my house.

Our finished basement floor got wet 6 years ago because of a clogged drain outside the door, and the water remediation company removed the carpet & carpet pad.
I always thought we'd just re-carpet, but now I'd like someone to come in and tell me if we should use carpet, install some kind of vinyl or linoleum floor, or just stain and finish the concrete. I want to finish it as inexpensively as possible for now.
Might it be possible to find someone to advise re: the best flooring for this situation, and then to install it?
