We re-use the little 8 oz water bottles (like Deer Creek/Kirkland brand, etc.) or the small gatorade bottles. They don't leak, just the right size, cheap, easily obtained and when they get lost, it's no big deal. I just fill them up with the liquid of choice. The Gatorade bottles are particularly sturdy.

It is such a challenge - I wish I could just send him with any of the countless Gerber Graduates Advanced Cups with Cup-Like Rim.

This thing does NOT leak - I can throw it in my purse with confidence - sideways, upside-down, still no leaks.

I have not had such luck with water bottles. My son really likes the 9 oz Lifefactory glass water bottles with silicone sleeves and flat screw on caps but I have had a horrible time with them leaking even after just weeks of use.

Anyone have any sucess with there Kindergartener using some other bottle with a screw tip lid sucessfully - like Klean Kanteens maybe?

This is what I buy for my kids. They are leakproof, easy to open, wide mouth top so they are also easy to clean. I get them from Amazon of Target.

Buy extra OP because they will get lost. And don't get a water bottle that is too tall - it'll fall out of backpack side pockets much easier.

Yeah, we use the stainless steel funtainers, too. We have a bunch and they've held up very well--I hand wash them. They only leak if I fail to tighten them well upon filling or if the straw isn't fully in place.

We wanted stainless, not plastic, and went with the Funtainer.

It does not leak. The button makes it hard for a toddler but my Kindy kid did fine with it.
