Usually when things are super tense at work. A good hour long massage usually takes care of it. Sometimes I need to go back within a week to get the rest of the knots out and the second round takes care of it. Relax, listen to soothing music, take a hot bath with a warm cup of tea, and get a good night's sleep afterward.

Yes, sometimes so bad I can't move my neck at all. I have muscle spasms in my shoulders and butt as well (sacroiliac dysfunction). Things that help, in order: 1. A muscle relaxant. I use Flexeril. Hate it since it turns me into a zombie, but it works. 2. Heat. I use an inexpensive electric heating pad. 3. Massage, preferably by someone else. I can sometimes get away with just heat and massage for the shoulder and butt spasms, but I've found I need the muscle relaxant for the neck spasms. Hope that helps.

Does anyone on this forum have severe neck pain or ever feel like it is so stiff that it feels like someone is twisting your neck?

EEK!

Thanks!
