Or a drama queen. Please stop. You can protest if you want but all this says is "I don't really like my MIL, she annoys me and this is one more example." If you liked her a lot you honestly would laugh at it at best in your head.

FWIW my own mom uses double negatives. I'm sure my kid will realize quite quickly that it isn't correct since most everyone else he is around would never use them. I love my mom, it's not something I even care about because I love her.

OP, you're a bitch. Something tells me this isn't the first time someone's called you a bitch (and probably denied it). I don't say it to be harsh, but it might be time to examine that the problem is you, and not others.

And no, I'm not a MIL. I'm just at a loss for how someone can be so petty to focus on such little, tiny, benign things. You need more real problems in your life to put things into perspective, and to make you less of a bitch.

This is interesting. my guess is that the OP's MIL is not AA. She just does not use the queens English.

Try really hard. It is not that difficult.

+1 consider it their shared little nonsense phrase. They will probably say that each other for a lifetime.

Yet another MIL vent. Every time she sees our DS my MIL says this annoying phrase to my DS. Baby talk is bad enough, but grammar is a sticking point with me. Every time she says it the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. I just want to scream!
