Yeah, I've been looking at rugs online for weeks. Everything looks the same to me. I dont' want something super traditional (oriental rug looking) and some of the transitional patterns are a little to modern for what I want too.

I'm looking for classic. Something that will work with navy, white and cherry dining room furniture.

I have the same question OP. I just ordered and indoor/outdoor rug and it looks too outdoorsy to me so its going back. I'm back to square one.

Is there anything similar to jute (that has some texture) that would be easier to deal with in a dining room?

What kind of floor covering you all have in your dining rooms?

This space is only going to be used for holidays and dinner parties. We have an eat-in kitchen for day-to-day use.

Jute is really hard to clean. We use indoor/outdoor rugs in our dining room, but we have kids and I realize that might not be the choice for everyone.

I think it sounds like a nice look. I don't know enough about jute to know how well it cleans, so you may want one that has chenille or something else mixed in too.

Well, technically the space is a separate formal dining room. Our style is more comfortable than formal though.

Is your dining room formal or informal? I think Jute for a formal room doesn't look right.

We are doing a navy dining room with white trim. I'm thinking of going with something neutral and highly textured on the floor.

Would a jute rug be a good choice? is this commonly or uncommonly used in dining rooms? Any reason why you wouldn't use a rug like this in the dining room?

Thoughts? Better options?
