We just keep the door open and use some cedar chips.

Insulate the attic door and use foam strips to seal it

We had a handyman install an attic fan when we first moved into this house, but I always questioned if it ever worked. I never saw the fan. I have no intention of going into our attic.

Have DH check it out.

Of course I wash my clothes. It's the musty air coming in From the attic that is the problem. Also, no air circulation in there. Plus it's hot and humid in the summer.

I hope someone here can help me out. My master bedroom closet has attic access which creates heat and a dusty smell. We have hardwood floors, don't stuff our closet full, and I vacuum in there several times a week.

Any ideas for keeping a closet fresh smelling and dust free? TIA.
