Me again, I know that dh doesn't like SCSI Fi, but honestly, those are some of the most accessible things for 13 year olds who are done witH Percy Jackson. Plus, you can watch the movies afterwards.

mike Lupica has a bunch of books about sports. My 10-12 year old boys really enjoy them. Also John Grisham

What about John Feinstein if they love sports and nonfiction. I think all of his books have been good but my favorite is the army -navy rivalry.

Thank you for the suggestions, he's read all the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson books.

I looked on goodreads earlier, but couldn't get the results to narrow down. All the YA books seem to be more geared toward girls. Having a hard time finding books that boys would find interesting.

NP here-- thank you so much for the goodreads site! My daughter is a voracious reader, and finally I see some great choices she hasn't already read.

For OP: Although my kids read the Alcatraz books at maybe 11, they still re-read them now from time to time. Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarian. Very funny book series (I think there are 4) about kids who don't realize their traits are super powers (i.e., tripping over flat surfaces, always arriving late, etc.).

Dies the Fire is great sf/fantasy. It's set in the Pacific NW and starts a series with a second related series set on Nantucket.

My 13 year old DS doesn't love to read and neither does my DH. In an effort to get my DS to read something this summer, my DH challenged him to a summer book read. They each need to read three books. I told them I would put together a selection of books that they could pick from, read and then discuss. Both love sports, DH does not prefer Sci-Fi and they both lean towards non-fiction. I would love suggestions of both fiction and nonfiction that would appeal to both father and 13 year old.
