We have the serta iseries hybrid - the plush version. It was actually very firm when we got it, which sucked because we really wanted a plush mattress. We put a featherbed on top and it has softened up over the past six months. BUT it has developed a hump in the middle that only softens up if someone sleeps on it, then hardens right back up again.

We got a Serta extra firm from Macy's.

Back and hip pain are now greatly reduced. Serta has the highest number of coils/per mattress of the popular brands.

Highly recommend (though it takes a couple weeks to "break-in" the mattress).

DS has a mattress with a gel top and hates it. After sleeping on it, the gel compresses. He sleeps on different parts of the bed on subsequent nights to equalize things.
(BTW, he is not heavy.)

Healthy Back Store has the Pure Bliss as well as another store (it was really gross to try out) in Rockville. I was not comfortable with the Healthy Back Store (Rockville and Bethesda - Bethesda has a better selection) - they were completely shady and are having problems if you google them. But, you can try them.

The difference is in the width - 8, 10, 12 or 14. If you go with an adjustable base, don't go higher than 12 with a topper. Try them as each had a different feel. It as firmer without the topper. We go the topper as I liked the feel and if the topper wore out, its cheaper to replace. Healthy Back claims to price match, but its not a true match. They also have lots of returns in their back so I worried about getting a return vs. new. Their staff was not friendly or helpful. Wayfair had the best adjustable bed price and their deliver was fine. We set it up with no problem (just the basic Rize one).

We got the Nature, which is the Essence at the Healthy Back store and combined it with the 2 inch latex topper. We got it from Mattress to Go in MI, matt-to-go.com The other companies online were a lot more money - we did everything by email, then phone. He does not negotiate prices but he gives you a really good price.

The only negative was I did not like the delivery company - the actually delivery guys were nice and prompt the the company had only one day to deliver in our area so it was basically cancel everything and be home. I also don't like the latex pillow as much as I hoped - its really nice but I don't like how it takes a few seconds to adjust. There was also a few hours of smell (I am sensitive) but it went away quickly after aired out - Jeff thought it was the packaging. Once I put the bed bug cover on, it was fine.

I looked at a lot of brands, but many of the buy direct brands you cannot try them or have to go to NY or CA to actually try the bed. I did not want to hassle with returns. I almost got a tempurpedic but was worried when I googled the smell and other problems. This was about half the price of tempurpedic and felt better in the end. There are a few mattress sites but some just seemed liked ads vs. helpful. One was ok but I forget the name.

The Latex is far more comfortable than the memory foam and has health benefits. I would not get it if you have a latex allergy but online it said they are different latex. There are also different kinds of latex so be careful you are getting the good one (I forget which one is which now). My concern with memory foam was all the chemicals, especially the gels. I'd go traditional or Latex. I also worried as our memory foam topper only lasted a few years.

I went to the pure Latex Bliss website and I saw they have pamper and nature mattress - which one do you recommend? Which ones did people buy and did you buy at a store or from this website?

No, if Sealy has latex, its not a real, pure latex. You do not want the gels as they are strong chemicals and break down over time. Latex is a natural product that is better for you and the environment. It also has very little off gassing unlike memory foam. We paid about $1600 for our queen latex and love it (plus a topper for a few hundred more). The Pure Bliss is the most reasonably priced and there is a store in another state to order/ship from that is great. You can look at them at the Healthy Back Store but their price matching is a scam and I'd worry some of their mattresses are returns after looking in their back room.

Bought Serta's iComfort gel memory foam for a family member with serious back issues. It has worked very well. The gel keeps it cool--too much heat is a common complaint for memory foam.

We are very pleased with our Sealy from Costco, ordered online, they deliver. If you aren't happy, Costco has a great return policy. We've had ours for a year.

I returned a couple of mattresses, then got a Sealy ultra firm from Costco. So far so good. No more back aches.

Do you recommended Sealy or Stearns and Foster brand? What is a good brand at a decent price? Looking for a king bed (not too soft).
