When she smells; when she rolls in something; when she is visibly funky or matted. Otherwise, no. Of course, certain breeds require a set schedule of periodic grooming or clipping or professional upkeep.

Once every 4-6 weeks. My dog is bigger and outside quite a bit, but she really doesn't need a bath too often. If needed in between baths I'll wipe her down with doggie bath wipes or something.

Bathing too often dries out their skin.

Op here. Smooth coat (short hair) dachshund. She has allergies and has been itching lately. I posted earlier this week about allergies. We bought some burts bees shampoo to wash her with and I washed her last weekend with it. Just wondering when her next bath should be. I've also heard that bathing too frequently can dry them out. And with my dogs long floppy ears, she's prone to yeast infections if her ears get water in them. Who knew that a dog could be sooooo high maintenance lol

We do it weekly. Soo many people compliment us on how good our dog smells compared to everyone else's. Your dog stinks if you are only doing once a month

11 pound dog. Once every month or two. Usually, when she starts smelling kind of doggy.

Too much water for dogs is not good. We give a bath about once a month, and groom about every other month.

Our 10 year old gets a bath around once a year, unless she's gotten super muddy or skunked.

And no, she doesn't smell like dog. She gets brushed, ears, etc. done often.

She's a short haired breed.

Our old guy (long hair) was done about once every 6 weeks towards the end of his life. He smelled very doggy.

I have a small dog (13 lbs) and she is always indoors except when we walk her outside to use the bathroom. How frequently do I need to give her a bath? How frequently do you wash your indoor small breed dog?
