Wipe out inside drawers and cabinets (it always shocks me how dirty some of the drawers get). Wash the fronts, if that isn't something she normally does.

Clean baseboards

Any light fixtures that aren't part of the normal rotation, if she can reach them on a step ladder.

Clean the underside of furniture that is easily tipped up (chairs, sectionals, etc) - dust collects on the underside and isn't necessarily gotten when vacuuming the floor.

Wash down indoor garbage cans.

Sweep out the garage.

Vacuum mattresses.

Door knobs & light switches if that isn't part of her normal routine; doors that are heavily used (our garage door tot he house gets very dirty with people going in and out).

Patio furniture

Tile grout, if special attention is needed

~ Shampoo the carpets if she can do it herself. Otherwise, perhaps call in someone and have her there while it gets done. Move furniture, etc.

~ Clean out the fridge, oven and stove. To make her job easier, I would not leave too much food in the fridge before you leave.

~ Power wash the outside patio or balcony areas.

~ Clean any window blinds.

~ Wash any bed comforters. She may have to take them to a laundromat where they have large washers for this.

Have a nice vacation OP.

We're about to head out on vacation and while we are gone our house cleaner does some yearly cleaning tasks. What do you do to clean your house irregularly (e.g. wash windows, dust in obscure corners, etc) that we might ask to do?
