So if you have children and STILL enjoy traveling or eating in a good restaurant, THAT means your children are not the best thing in the world. Huh? That makes no sense. As another poster said: "False dichotomy."

I think having my children was the best thing in the world and I they have amazed me in ways I never imagined. I did not realize I had so much love inside me. AND I enjoy other things in life such as traveling, going to movies, eating at restaurants, etc.



+1. I can't imagine my world without the family my husband and I have created. That said in the past 10 years I've also grown and changed personally and professionally in many ways. One didn't stop the other, in fact seeing how creative and inspired my kids could make me encouraged me to pursue other pursuits.

Because my husband very badly wanted to be a father, and I want him to remain my husband. So he's the main parent, and we have a nanny while I work full time even though financially I don't need to.


Thanks for answering and I can understand why you made that choice. Any regrets?

I like apple pie. It is my favorite food in the world. Most of the food I eat is NOT apple pie.

There are only about 10 days per year when I wish I could get rid of my kids on freecycle.

This. I still go to movies and travel and eat out at great restaurants. I have friends and date nights and even a hobby or two. My children are also the best thing in my world along with my DH. So I can't say I agree.

Adopting a child gave my life purpose. I did a lot of interesting things before, but they all pale in comparison to this. JMHO.
