Why are they disgusting? What's so gross about cut up fruit? Or is it something they do to said fruit?

It depends on the particular store. Some have been great (fresh, delicious fruit and chocolate) and others had overripe or underripe fruit which I ended up throwing out after one day.

I agree that Edible Arrangements aren't very good. I've gotten a few and the fruit doesn't taste very good. I also try to eat the dirty dozen organic and I'm pretty sure none of their fruit is organic. I'd rather have somebody buy me a basket of produce from the farmer's market.

Sounds silly, but I liked my memory box. It's a special place to put little things yiu want to save. Then you can put it in a baby book later. Of course, after the first you never really get around to finishing the next baby book.

I'm looking for ideas that I can send/ship/deliver to NJ today or tomorrow. Was thinking along the lines of a meal delivery or even an edible arrangement if I'm desperate but other ideas are warmly welcome!
