They provide records for a second opinion all of the time. Don't worry about hurting their feelings. Just be prepared that it might take some time and also cost more than you think it should.

When you schedule the appt the assistant will help you figure out what you need to send in advance. He might also require some new bloodwork before the appt too.

I have a consult set up with Dr Davis. I had never heard of him until this forum but his is the name that gets mentioned for Cornell. Call them and they can tell you what to do, they do this all the time. You'll need your records from SG to get there by the time you have your appt, which will be at least a month away or more, so go ahead and get it set up. My dr doesn't know I'm getting a second opinion yet. I have no problem telling him though, when I do see him next. I know you don't want to hurt his feelings, but you can't care more about his feelings than your progress. I went through 8 years as a caregiver to my mom when she had cancer, and I am an old hat at getting second (and third) opinions and being straight with doctors.

What do I need to send in order to do the consult? Do folks find that their current doctors are annoyed when you get a second opinion? I know I shouldn't care, but I do. Part of what makes showing up for monitoring so often bearable is the nice relationship I have with the doctors and nurses at GW.

I've had a bunch failed IUIs and FETs (2bfps, but very early miscarriages). I'm almost 40 and want to do everything I can to make this work.
