You could take a train, takes about 12 hours. Kind of a cool trip.

it takes about 5 hours by train, not 12 hours!

There's no direct train from London to Amsterdam. Either you take the Eurostar to Brussels and then another train onto Amsterdam or you take a ferry across the Channel and do trains on either side.

Scotland is good if your kids are into Harry Potter stuff. Locations from the movie and books are everywhere. JK Rowling wrote many of the books in Scotland.

I would agree. Ann Frank house is worth a visit for the older kids as well.

Buy tickets online as soon as you know your dates. Just leaving Amsterdam now and skipped the visit bc online tickets were sold out and the lines were enormous.

Looking for another side trip for our next stay in London with kids. Already done English countryside and France. I'm thinking Amsterdam or Edinburgh. What do you think?
