Why not *you* say no?
You're still the parent.

Please don't allow your kids to attend parties that might have alcohol and/or drugs.

Reality:
"A party isn't a party without alcohol."

The driver is now expected to survive, however he remains in ICu with a brain injury (from what I understand). There were chilled drinks in the car, the drive had an elevated BAC, and there are rumors of drugs found. The two who were killed died instantly. They were not wearing seat belts. The car was traveling very fast, became airborne, hit a tree, flipped. The pictures of the car show a twisted mass of metal that is difficult to understand. The 4th student sustained only minor injuries and was released in the morning after. The home was a former student but it is unclear if parents were present or "adults".

This is a horrific tragedy. Please teach your kids to call an Uber.

Sounds like the parents were home-- the article said that when the cops went to the house, there were still partiers on the front lawn and the parents were home. Wow.

My sympathies to their families and friends. They should grieve however they need to.

I haven't yet heard if whichever adults who hosted the underaged drinking party will be charged. I'm sorry, they needed to be charged, or this will KEEP happening. This is a HUGE problem with the irresponsible parents who think they're doing their kids a favor.

Do we already have a thread about what happened to the Wooten graduates?
