What about old mud bathrooms in large desirable home? Still apply?

OP here...sorry I forgot to mention it's a foreclosure. It's in pretty good condition, the bank took care of all the big things like carpets and paint so we have some room to update the rooms I mentioned. That being said, since we aren't going to live here forever, we wanted to update it enough to make it look more modern while still being wise with our money

Don't renovate of you'll only be there 5-7 years.

Most bang for buck is typically kitchen and baths. Lots of articles about this if you search.

Husband wants to bid on a home that requires some updates (master bath, kitchen, and powder room...and eventually a deck). We have been looking around at some of the local kitchen/bath stores as well as Lowe's/Home Depot and getting quotes from contractors. My question is, if you are not going to be in this home for more than 5-7 years, who would you pick to do the renovations? What is the most affordable way to go about this renovation and what will give us the most bang for our buck? Please help!
