I'm planning on painting my family room Benjamin Moore Misted Green.

I just painted my dining room and kitchen Ball Green. Had no idea it was a fad.

There a lot of different trends out there. I did see recently more of the bright green thing. Probably a reaction to the white and grey. One thing for sure: never decorate to follow a trend, by the time you are done picking your last cushion the "style" is out. Choose colors and furniture that you love, spend some time understanding what you really like...

And yeah, it is ugly

Hate carpet of any sort.

Best greens are either vivid or green tinted natural tones.

Any specific colorways?

What shade of green? I'm not sure what's worse, green or the deep red that I personally hate but many seem to love. I personally can't stand the deep red color to be used anywhere, it's just too strong and makes the room feel darker too.

I always paint my walls the colors I personally like, which are pale but warm. Can't imagine painting my personal surroundings a color just because it's the fad.

I don't mind the gray fashion that's been in place; it's pretty neutral, and miles better than that paper bag brown that was popular for a while. Painting dark rooms gray just seems so grim, though.

I don't like a lot of the green shades, because I associate them with my 60s-era military brat childhood--all the military buildings and even civilian types of dreary public buildings were painted shades of green inside.

It's a reaction to all the gray. Pick what you like and ignore trends.
