Not sure about you, but I don't stick my hand in the baby's butt while changing a diaper.

So if you don't use an applicator and are in a public stall, you leave the stall with blood on your hands?

I much prefer the non-applicator ones. Less waste and I can get it in exactly the right spot.

Do most people wash their hands BEFORE changing it? No, I don't think so. I have almost NEVER seen a woman go into the bathroom in a public place and wash her hands before going into the stall.

I used to use the ones with applicators because that's what I started using as a teenager. I tried the ones without and really like them! They are much easier for me to get into the right position.

Have you tried something like Soft Cups? They are like tampons but are cups you insert like a tampon and can leave in for up to 12 hours. I LOVE them. They are so easy and way more comfortable for me than tampons ever were (always felt them a tiny bit, even though you aren't supposed to feel them).

I prefer non-applicator. Less waste, you can stick one in your pocket without it being noticeable, and they work better. PP, you think it's gross to put your finger in your own vagina?

Non applicator at one time was only alternative if you wanted a very small package you could put in jean pocket without necessitating a purse. Now that more compact applicators are available it's up for debate. Also the first non applicator brand used to be extremely effective and long lasting with no risk of leakage. After toxic shock became a worry they all lost their effectiveness in favor of less TS risk.

Non applicator ones are popular in Europe. Less stuff to throw out.

what do you prefer and why? i've always used with applicator just because that's what my mom bought. tried non-applicator today and while messy, not so bad.
