I should also add that the tuition is $800/month. I'm not sure how that compares to other options closer to the Hill, but that's about half what we were paying for daycare.

I think WLs will move a bit in the month of June, so you may still stand a chance. For daycare, I have heard good things about FERC.

We did try all those schools and are currently WL. I am looking for anything at this point.
I don't think we will get into any of the public schools so maybe looking for a private preschool or daycare options (again without paying a fortune)

If you live closer to the orange/blue lines, try Amidon-Bowen and Van Ness. It's kind of an exciting time because Van Ness is a new school...

Are you asking for DCPS recommendations, or private preschools? At this point, I think you'll have a really tough time getting a spot at a well-regarded DCPS school anywhere near the Hill. If you are willing to commute a little further, you could try Langley. They have a really nice building, great new principal, and a fun garden curriculum. I think it is emerging as a solid choice.

You could also check out Miner, Wheatley and Langdon, and Payne if that's convenient for you. I'm not as familiar with those schools so I really can't say.

Hi,

We recently moved to DC and went on the school lottery too late. We have a 3 year old daughter who we were trying to get into Peabody Elementary but we were waitlisted.

Does anyone know of some other options in the Capitol Hill area. We are looking for our daughter to spend atleast 3 days a week in school without paying a fortune.

Thanks for any recommendations.
