We did pre-K there and it was very good. The speech path there is exceptional.

The really loud one? Not exceptional but definitely hyper.

+1 to look at Maddux and extended day at the on-site Beverly Farms child care, which is very experienced with the Maddux kids. You'd probably have a better chance of getting in starting that young. It's expensive and not for everyone but if the fit is good it's a great program.

Many families do a combination of PEP plus preschool. I'm assuming your child is in PEP or a similar type program. I would ask your parent educator about inclusive preschools in the nearby area, they usually keep a list.

+1. We did a combo of mainstream plus PEP. The school itself did not bill itself as SN but after extensive discussions with myselff, the dev ped, and the parent coordinator at PEP, the school felt they could handle his issues. they were right and it was a sucessful year.

Depending on the nature of the delays (and the age of your child), look at Maddux.

My son attended Potomac Nursery School on Falls Rd. B
He was extremely speech delayed and had coordination issues. They were very patient.

We recently visited Harbor and really loved it. It has a great reputation for being inclusive.

I am looking for a private preschool for my 4 year old child with developmental delays. We have tried several schools that claimed to be "inclusive" but turned out to be not inclusive at all. Teachers usually had a very poor attitude toward children with developmental delays and set their expectations very low. I would appreciate any recommendations about positive experiences in private preschools in the Rockville/Bethesda area.

Thanks everyone.
