okay so as long as she wasn't rude about your buying the wrong things I would let her shop on her own

If when she claimed I bought the wrong kind or size she was respectful about it I would be okay with this. Though I would likely just take her shopping with me. If she was rude or disrespectful about it I would not, because I wouldn't reward that type of behavior.

DD claims I "never" buy the things she wants at the grocery store, even when she gives me I list I buy the wrong kind/size, etc. and says it's just easier for me to give her money and she buys it herself. So I've been giving her money and she grocery shops by herself. Would that be ok with you?
