My friend has an IKEA kitchen and not only do I love the way it looks, she said it has held up really well. They had a few issues and IKEA replaced the items - apparently the warranty is great. Agree with the above poster that I'd prefer a nice white ikea kitchen to an expensive remodel that isn't my taste.

Wellborn (http://www.wellborn.com/) and Wolf (http://www.wolfleader.com/products) are two cabinet lines that are both less expensive and higher quality than what I've been quoted at Home Depot. I don't know off hand who sells them in this area.

They look great. The best bang for your buck. Add your own granite or other stone countertops. Ikea has limited countertop options. You can't beat the price for the boxes, hardware and doors. They do have wood doors.

Their counters actually look better than what I've seen at Home Depot, but the sinks are all terrible.

Despite IKEA's new kitchen designs, they still only really come in a few standard sizes. Didn't work for us in our old building where we would've lost a ton of space using them because options were so limited and our kitchen isn't built for totally standard size cabinets.

I have been surprised by some of the IKEA kitchens I've seen (meaning, I didn't know they were IKEA until friend told me so). Some of the cabinet styles definitely "scream" IKEA but others look very similar to everything else out there. I also think it makes a difference if it's JUST the cabinets that are IKEA and not the counters, fixtures, backsplash, etc...

We used them and they are beautiful. Like a custom kitchen. And used as the highest end line at ikea and ceaesarstone countertop.

This is what we were considering. Getting the boxes from Ikea and then getting doors from these guys or Kokeena, because the door selection at Ikea is so limited. Makes it a good bit more expensive, though.

I would have had no issue buying a house with an Ikea kitchen in decent shape. At least they are usually a nice style. Much better than a more expensive kitchen in a style I don't like. FWIW, I bought a 700K house.

I need to replace my cabinets and countertops. Might refinish the floors too. Did not realize how expensive cabinets were at Home Depot (estimate was $10k and I have a small rowhouse kitchen...I was looking at white wood). Ikea cabinets look fine to me. Is it a really a resale issue?
