She's excellent. She will tell you like it is and won't sugar-coat anything. Along with a comprehensive multi-paged report, she sends you away with a detailed list of interventions and referrals.

Office is in Chevy Chase/Bethesda area very close to Friendship Heights.

Thanks for this information - this sounds like what I am looking for.

Initially I want an assessment. After the assessment, I want therapy for my child that will supplement what is occurring at school. I also want to bring the assessment to school and request that we figure out exactly what the focus area is, understand how we are going to measure progress and know when we are ready to move to the next area.

OP - your child likely needs adaptive writing and cutting instruments!

A bit easier to read. Your child may do well with some form of assistive technology - keyboarding or speech to text for getting work done.

Try these folks - they have veteran staff but the company is a start up out of VA... They serve DC, too.

My elementary aged DC was assessed at school earlier this year and is receiving OT services through school. The teacher mentioned that she was not satisfied with the progress she saw this year and recommended that we have a private assessment done.

I have no idea where to start with this. My DC has poor grip and hand writing. Has challenges with activities such as art class as he is not able to make his vision happen with the materials as cutting and coloring is typically a challenge.

Are there anyone you would recommend who you either used to supplement school services or were able to have develop a clear plan that was executed by the school OT. Thanks for any recommendations.
