Costco, they have three models - bought one yesterday - got the middle one. I'd get the large one or two in your situation. We looked at pricing - got one cheaper and it was crap and have to return it. There prices overall were better.

I do NOT recommend the free standing option if you can instead have a window unit. They are exceptionally loud, less efficient, and difficult to deal with. They don't deal well with the humidity here either.

Go with a traditional window unit. We have an LG window unit we picked up at Home Depot with a remote that we like. Get one with enough BTUs for your space.

our fourth floor is a finished attic with 2 bedrooms and bathroom - its just super hot up there - does anyone have a window-type portable AC unit to recommend?
I saw one at Home Depot that looked like a tall standing fan but vents out a window...
