All kidding aside, it does sound like a great idea. They have peanut allergy sniffing dogs, so why not cancer?

I would love this too!

My friend has a diabetic service dog. Love him! He can smell her levels getting low when she's sleeping an wake her up. He truly has saved her life multiple times.

Like everything medical, they need lots of large studies before approval by the FDA. It's still a few years down the road.

Obviously this would not be full-proof, but for those of us avoiders, it would be a first step. I would happily pay for a dog to smell me and if the dog detected cancer I would absolutely look into that. If the dog didn't detect anything I'd still get the recommended screenings. Maybe the dog could save some of us from too many CT scans?
