I was there in November and it was in fact lovely. The food was simply amazing. I can't remember which suite we were in. They seemed to have a nice pool so if you are there in the summer I would take advantage of it!

We had a great stay there. We stayed in the main building on the second floor (can't remember what room it was). Dinner was wonderful. And agree about the grounds - we enjoyed walking around. For history, go to the Jefferson winery.

I haven't stayed there in 10 years, but the food was great, and the property is gorgeous. Be sure to go for a walk on the grounds!

Clifton Inn was the best food ever! The room (Martha Washington?) was amazing. nine months later DD was born!

Clifton Inn is really nice and the food is great, though their executive chef left a few months ago, so I don't know about the current chef. There is also Keswick and the Inn at Willow Grove.

I'm looking for a B&B or inn near Charlottesville for a weekend this summer. Has anyone stayed at the Clifton Inn? How was your stay? Any rooms/suites you liked/didn't like? Any inns or B&Bs that are similar to it near wineries? Which wineries would you recommend? I've looked at a lot of B&Bs/inns online and most of them seem too flowery/cutesy for my liking. The Clifton Inn is more my style. TIA!
