That's a weird request. I mean WHY don't they want you to be there? Are they cutting corners and don't want you to see?
I'm not home when our cleaners are here, but DH WFH and he just moves to a different room.

No way. I follow them around cleaning up other stuff and pop in often putting away laundry or toys. Esp when they are in the bedrooms.
And I always check locks on all window and doors when they leave. But then again I have trust issues.

Required? No. That might worry me a little bit actually. We schedule our cleaner when we know our 3 kids will be out of the house (obviously, that might get annoying), but sometimes I WFH. It's hardly a problem.

The cleaners come on a day I work from home. I work on the other floor from where they are cleaning (on a nice day I go work on the patio). It's never been an issue.

I work from home one day a week, and if that happens to be the day the cleaning people come I will not be kicked out of my own home.

Is this for a one time deep clean? I might understand them wanting an empty house for that.

I am usually WFH when the cleaners come. They clean around me if I need to be at my desk. If not, I'll go to another room or outside on the patio. You decide if you want to be in your own home, not the person you are paying to clean it.
