Boys=six pizzas

Girls= four pizzas

As boys get to middle school the pizza number exponentially increases per child.

It also depends on the time and type of party. My son went to a pool bday party that was right around dinner time, and those kids went through a crap load of pizza. The mom had to actually choose who got the last slice (it wasn't like anyone went hungry, they were all just eating like crazy). I think pool party might = more food.

With 8 kids coming, you would probably need to order two pies. More if there are parents in attendance that you wish to feed.

Yes. Your math is better than pp. (Cutting 16 slices doesn't make the kids any more full I'd add.)
Pizza is cheap. If you think parents might stay, "over order" and worst case you have leftovers to send home with friends and family or even give to the event site people running the bday party (we do this all the time and they are quite appreciative in the staff room!) Have fun!

I'd get four, and offer any remaining to parents or siblings during pick up time.

Have the pizza place cut the pies in 16ths.

I would get three pies. That's two slices per kid plus one extra pie. At age 8 there should not be any parents staying.

We are celebrating my daughter's 8th birthday next week at a local venue and there will be 16 children in attendance incl. the birthday girl. I was wondering how many pizzas I should order to feed 16 children. Do you generally offer pizza to the parents as well? If so, how many pizzas in total should I order? This is my first time hosting an event this size. In the past, we had smaller celebrations and I feel a bit overwhelmed.
